best water parks in singapore

There is nothing better than to soak in the delight of water during a hot afternoon. But why turn it into a regular visit to the pool when you could mix the refreshing fun with the excitement of a day in the amusement park?

Water parks are definitely one of our most ingenious inventions—splashing and sliding is exciting whether you are 10 or 70, so a visit to the nearest water park is assured family fun for everyone.

Thankfully enough, Singapore provides great options and a varied assortment of water parks to pick from—no matter the entertainment you seek, there is bound to be something to fit you and your family’s circumstances.

And since I know what it’s like to be a busy mom trying to find the perfect spot for her family, I’ll make the journey much easier for you—check the following water parks in Singapore, all of them ideal for bringing out your inner mermaid alongside your kids.

I know, I know—this is cheating. Birdz of Play is the playground for the Jurong Bird Park, so it isn’t exclusively a waterpark. But believe me, you have to visit it!

Birdz of Play is as fun as its punny name suggests—colorful and decorated with thematic birds, it is divided in dry & wet zones, with the latter having designated areas for toddlers and older children. Slides, water splashes and pools provide the watery fun you seek.

It may seem like a given, but if you visit the Jurong Bird Park, come prepared—bring bathing suits, towels, and an extra set of clothes. Likewise, I suggest you bring your own food or snacks.

7- [email protected] AMAZE AT SAFRA PUNGGOL

Splash Kidz Amaze is located at the SAFRA Punggol installations. Being part of a club, it is slightly more expensive to us outsiders—but I believe the visit is totally worth it!

The installations are inclusive, dynamic and fun—not only for children but also adults. It features water slides of multiple shapes and sizes (fit for everyone), and it is divided in two sections: one for toddlers and one for older kids. Likewise, the installations are indoors, so the weather is never a problem.

People seeking relaxation and calmness, beware—Adventure Cove honors its name to the core!

As a more exploratory kind of park, Adventure Cove isn’t ideal for younger children. However, if your kids are over five, then this might be the adventure you’ve been waiting for.

Hop in the Adventure River and explore the entire water park—you’ll come across caves, fishes, rays, and much more. After you are done, you can enjoy the waves in the Bluwater Bay pool, or visit the water slides. And don’t worry about hunger, there’s a restaurant and plenty food stands.

Sometimes it’s good to go back to basics.

Despite not having an elaborated gimmick, Sengkang Swimming Complex offers the most heavenly of all combinations—bigger fun, smaller price. Located by the Sengkang Riverside Park, it’s managed by Sport Singapore and it is part of a bigger network of sport complexes all over Singapore.

Other than the swimming pool, it also features a very complete children’s play area, and plenty of water slides to have that splash of fun you seek!

Splash-N-Surf is part of the Singapore Sports Hub locations and provides exactly what the name implies.

The ‘splash’ half of the deal comprises the Water Play Area & Kids Pool—water slides meant for the suggested age range of 3-12. Next, the Lazy River is meant for leisure floating. While it’s safer for older children, younger kids should be under supervision because of the water depth.

Finally, the Stingray features more energetic activities—bodyboarding and skimboarding. Wave-riding is not for everyone, but thrill-seeking families with older kids should give it a go!

Official website: https://www.sportshub.com.sg/communities

Address: Level 3 of Kallang Wave Mall, located near Gate 21 of the National Stadium. Check how to get there!

Jurong East Swimming Complex is something akin to the big brother of the aforementioned Sengkang Swimming Complex—bigger, stronger, yet equally accessible.

Also run by Sport Singapore, Jurong East provides far more than their cheap rates would lead you to believe. Their installations include a competition, kid and wave pools, a lazy river, a mushroom, a Jacuzzi, and over three water slides.

Jurong East is one of my favorite swimming complexes—its simplicity and approachability makes it one of the most versatile spots to have fun with your kids, and a classic favorite.

Alright, let’s be honest—who doesn’t love pirates? If a grown-up mother like me can appreciate the appeal of the hook and Jolly Roger, then their charm for children is endless.

So a pirate-themed recreation spot is bound to be one of the best water parks in Singapore, by far!

Palawan Pirate Ship Water Playground is new—it opened to the public on November 2017, but it is nothing short of amazing—it has slides, splashing, pirate ships, and lots, lots of water, courtesy of a splashing pirate head.

The park is tailor-made for kids—three to ten years is the ideal age range, and only children can use the slides and the ship, for safety issues. But us parents can stand back and enjoy the sight of our children playing Captain Hook—while making sure they don’t walk the plank.

But the best part? Admission is free!

Official website: https://www.sentosa.com.sg/explore/attractions/palawan-pirate-ship.

Address:  Palawan Beach, Sentosa. Check how to get there here!

Operating hours: Every day from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Entry price: FREE!

Membership: Doesn’t apply.

Birthday Party Availability: Two party packages are available—Little Explorers & Ultimate Island. Check them out!
