12 Indoor Playgrounds in Singapore ideal for your kids (and you)!

indoor playground Singapore

Singapore is home to a number of enjoyable, creative and thoughtful indoor playgrounds for kids. Parents of babies, toddlers and kids under the age of 12 years have a good selection of play, educational and interactive areas to plan an outing on a weekday, weekend or over the holidays. You’ll be surprised at the sheer choice of places to go with kids.

Why you should consider indoor playgrounds

Many Indoor playgrounds in Singapore are such that they keep kids active, entertained and busy. They play an important role in your children’s social development.

Many moms and dads choose to catch up at indoor play spaces. For moms who lunch to dads ‘on duty’, an indoor playground located not too far from their home is a convenient means to socialize with other parents.

Besides the fact that indoor play areas are accessible regardless of weather conditions outside, they are safe – equipment at indoor play places are wrapped in plastic foam so that little ones can jump around and bump into things without getting hurt – and multi-purpose (e.g.: parents can chill out at a café on the premises).

Many  playgrounds here have dedicated toddler areas (6 months – 3 years) and kids’ areas (4 – 12 years). They also have set rules that clarify expectations and help parents make appropriate arrangements in advance.

Indoor playgrounds need not be expensive

Indoor playgrounds in Singapore seek to include as many families as they can by charging reasonable fees. Many offer a saver’s pass, individual membership and corporate membership packages. Parents can also make the most of the opportunity to grab discounts and promotional offers during certain times of the year.

Tips for parents while visiting Indoor Playgrounds in Singapore for kids

  • Allocate time to play (1-2 hours) and let kids know in advance when it’s time to leave, so to avoid a meltdown at the playground! Consider explaining the itinerary to the young ones (e.g.: We’ll play for an hour and then we’ll have a milkshake and your favorite macaroni and cheese).
  • Decide if you want to entrust your older child with the responsibility of keeping an eye on his/her younger sibling at the play area while you catch up on other important tasks. Many indoor playgrounds in Singapore require adult (18 years and above) supervision.
  • Even if there is staff around, do make sure that you don’t spend too much time away from the play area, particularly if it is busy and getting a bit rowdy, or if the area is being shared by older kids.
  • Indoor playgrounds in Singapore require visitors to bring socks; those who don’t will be expected to purchase them at the facility.
  • Indoor playgrounds have facilities oriented to the needs of adults (e.g. a prayer room, on-site seating area, café etc).
  • Note that some indoor play areas disallow bringing food and drinks. You can make a meal stop at a mall restaurant or one at the playground.
  • If there are no arrangements for food at the facility, consider packing sandwiches, finger food, juice and water. Choose refreshments that don’t make a mess and are quite healthy. Some examples include mini egg muffins, sliced ripe pear, chicken nuggets, banana bread, toddler-friendly energy bites, broccoli & cheese frittata fingers, and mini pea pancakes.
